Elena Viseri
Elena Viseri is a PhD candidate at the University of Thessaly in the Department of Early Childhood Education. She has studied Theatre (School of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and holds a master degree in ‘Aesthetic Education’ (Department of Early Childhood Education, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). She has worked as a drama teacher in primary education (2018-2022) and adult education (2016-2023) and as a researcher in the European Research Programme SMOOTH- H2020 (2022-2023).
Her dissertation, supervised by assistant professor Niki Nikonanou, is entitled ‘Museums as Commons: participatory educational actions and interventions’. The main aim is to study, both in theory and practice, museums as educational and cultural commons, focusing on the ideas of participation, active citizenship of individuals and communities, the social role and the democratization of museums.
