City Museums around the World - Assumptions and practices

The project was funded by the
History and Documentation Centre of the Municipality of the City of Volos, in the context of the New Museum of the City of Volos, which was being planned by the same Centre. It aimed to explore assumptions, practices and challenges of different City Museums around the world, and it was based on a extensive questionnaire and a relative international scientific meeting that was realised in Volos in April 2006.

The Museum Education and Research Laboratory participated in the organising committee of the International Scientific Meeting, "Representations of Cities in City-Museums: Assumptions and perpesctives". The Meeting was held at the History and Documentation Centre of the Municipality of the City of Volos, in April 2006.
