Aimilia Kalogianni

Aimilia Kalogianni was born in Larissa in 1976 and grew up in Volos, where she lives and works today. She studied Archaeology at the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Ioannina, from which she graduated in 1998. In 2010 she obtained an MA degree from the Postgraduate Program of the Department of Preschool Education / Faculty of Humanities, University of Thessaly, en-titled “Educational toys and educational material on the first school age”. From 1998 to 2006 she had a contract with the Greek Ministry of Culture to work as an archaeologist in the excavations conducted by the 13th Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities of Volos. Since 2006 she has been working in the same position, under private law contracts of indefinite duration. Her service tasks include electronic documentation of archaeological material (electronic indexing and digital documentation). She is also responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating educational programs conducted on a regular or periodic basis at the Athassanakeion Archaeological Museum of Volos. She speaks English and French fluently. She has participated in several conferences mainly with papers on issues of contemporary museum education and on archaeological matters.
